Change the sitemap
Help CenterIn short
Edit, add, move and remove pages, ask for changes in your own words, undo from History, and lock or unlock the structure.
You can change every page in the plan before anything is written, and every edit here is free. Only Plan again from scratch costs credits (40).
Edit a page
Click a page to open it. You can change its Title, Address, What this page must do, Framework, Length and Place under. Tick This page is already on my live site for a page you keep as it is. It stays in the map so links make sense, but it is not written and costs nothing.
Add, move and remove
- Add a page adds one. We pick a framework you can change later.
- Move pages up and down, or drag them on the map.
- Remove page takes a page out. Its sub-pages move up one level.
- Select lets you remove several pages at once with Delete selected.
If a page you remove already has copy, the confirmation says so. That copy is lost for good. Undo last change brings back only the empty page, still linked to its product if the product still exists.
Ask for changes
- Press Ask for changes and describe the change the way you would brief a colleague, for example "Merge the two sector pages".
- Press Show me the change. We list the steps: pages to add, remove, change or move.
- Press Apply or Discard.
Asking and applying are free. If the change removes pages that already have copy, the button reads Apply and delete, and their copy is lost for good.
History
History holds two things:
- Undo last change and Redo last change step back and forward through your edits.
- Earlier plans you can go back to: the plan before you planned again, before you applied asked changes, and before a restore. The last 5 are kept.
Going back to an earlier plan asks you to confirm first. Pages added since then are deleted. If any of them already have copy, you type DELETE to confirm.
Plan again from scratch
Plan again from scratch reads your documents again and proposes a new set of pages, for 40 credits. Your edits, added pages and accepted suggestions are replaced. The current plan stays in History.
If pages already have copy, every page is replaced, including those. The confirmation says how many written pages lose their copy for good, and you type DELETE first.
Locked while writing
When you write the site, the sitemap locks so pages and links stay consistent. To change it later, press Unlock to edit. A page you change is written again at the usual price, and links between pages may change. Pages you leave alone keep their copy. Lock again locks the structure without rewriting anything.
